In July 2009, Development Research Center of State Council, National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and other related experts group, made a profound research and study on China’s optical communication development. It is said that our optical communication industry has kept 30%-40% growth in recent years. It has already developed into one of the fastest growing industry. At present, we have formed more comprehensive optical fiber communication industry system, which covers the fields of optical fiber, the optical transmission equipment, the optical source and detector, optical module industries.
On January 13, 2010, the State Council decided to accelerate the integration of the telecommunication networks, the cable TV networks and the Internet; popularizing two-way broadcasting and telecommunication service to a pilot before 2012, and fully realizing the three networks convergence in 2015. It will be another significant opportunity to China’s Optical Communication industry. The Three networks convergence will greatly stimulate the relative manufacturing industry. It will especially promote the development of the optical communication components and electronic information industry. And at the same time, it upgrades the metropolitan-area networks and trunk networks.
Grasping the opportunity of three networks convergence, China Optical Communication Technology and Development Forum will invite the cable and telecommunication operators, equipment and components manufacturers to the discussion of the policy interpretation and communication of the key technologies and schemes, so as to achieve the healthy and balanced development of three networks convergence of relevant industries. Facing the trend of miniaturization, low cost and low power consumption of optical components, the forum will invite the optoelectronic professionals from the leading enterprises and research institutes to present a profound insight in to the latest technologies and trends of the optical components and optics modules.
With the aim to promote the development of the whole optical communication industries,
