He is a Lifetime Fellow of American Physics Society, Fellow of IEEE, and the Optical Society of America. Speaker: Professor Miao Xiangshui is currently a Chang Jiang Professor of HUST, working in Electronic Science & Technology Department and WNLO. He was rewarded with National Technology Award from Singapore in 2004, National Award of Science & Technology Development from China in 1998 and 1992. He has authored or co-authored over 178 scientific papers, in which 65 papers was collected by SCI. He has applied 9 international patents until now. His current research interests include phase change memory, optical media, magnetic media, nano materials and thin film.

Ph.D., Cheung Kong Professor, SPIE Fellow, the Director of Britton Chance Center for Biomedical Photonics, the Executive Deputy Director of WNLO, the Vice President of HUST, the Chair of Biomedical Photonics Committee of Chinese Optical Society and the Managing Editor of Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences. Dr. Luo’s research interests have focused on Biomedical Photonics and Bioinformatics. He has systematically carried out the studies on optical molecular imaging and tissue optical imaging based on tissue structure and function. Collaborating with Dr. Britton Chance, he invented the functional near-infrared spectroscopy brain imager in 1996. His group developed the methodology and applications of optical intrinsic signal imaging and laser speckle imaging on the high resolution imaging of cortical activities, and performed the optical molecular imaging studies in living cells and model animals. Dr. Luo has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers and owns about 20 patents.

Speaker: Dr. Hongwei Han is Professor at Huazhong University of HUST and WNLO, and is now Deputy Director of the Michael Grätzel Center for Mesoscopic Solar Cells. Dr. Han obtained his bachelor degree from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Science in 2000 and his doctor degree from the School of Physics and Technology in 2005 at Wuhan University. And then, Dr. Han continued his research work at Monash University of Australia as Postdoctor. Dr. Han joined HUST and WNLO in 2008 and began to establish his group of solar cells. Since 2000, Dr. Han is working on the study of dye-sensitized solar cells, his work monolithic solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells exhibits promising application prospects, and has obtained financial support from industrialization. Dr. Han devotes himself to the research and development of low-cost solar cells, aiming to make a contribution to the development of renewable energy.
