Connecting Japan and China in photonics, no matter in Hesei or Renwa


Asia’s two biggest countries relationship is very subtle but the biggest photonic events of them – CIOE (China International Optoelectronic Exposition) and OPIE (Optics & Photonics International Exhibition) remains excellent partnership to connect more business opportunities in photonics business to professionals from China and Japan.



OPIE is one important Japanese optoelectronic event which is expecting to gathering 300+ photonic brands and 17,000+ professional attendees, and it’s also the official partner of CIOE Japan pavilion every year.  CIOE organizing committee was invited again to attend OPIE 2019 fair last April to recruit more Japanese companies, buyers and R&D to join CIOE show in China.


CIOE organizing committee had been invited to given a talk to the audience for introducing Chinese market status and why China and Japan need to work very closely together for photonics business. After the presentation, several Japanese professionals had expressed their interest in the coming CIOE 2019 which will be held on September 4-7, 2019 in Shenzhen convention & exhibitions center with 2,000 photonics and optoelectronic companies showcasing their latest technologies and products to global professionals.




Also professional from Japan’s leading company SONY had approached to CIOE delegate about their interest in exhibiting at CIOE 2019. It is confirmed now SONY will be exhibited at CIOE 2019, bringing along its most advanced products.

Traditional leading companies in photonics had exhibiting at OPIE will also exhibiting at CIOE 2019 as well, Trumpf, PI, Fanuc, Thorlabs, Fujikura, Sumitomo, Zemax, Go Edmund, Hamamatsu, Trioptics. It’ll be the final OPIE in Hesei period, the next OPIE will be in Renwa period according to the new Japanese Empire. It should bring new atmosphere and some changes to every aspects of Japan’s society but one thing is certain. No matter in Hesei or in Renwa, CIOE organizing committee will continue to connect more Japanese companies and professionals to China to drive the Sino-Japanese photonics cooperation and business.


CIOE organizing committee also paid a visit to Akimi Tsukui, the member of council and director general of JIIA (Japan Industrial Imaging Association).


JIIA (Japan Industrial Imaging Association) is a Japan-based organization fostering technological innovation of industrial imaging, promoting a global community for organizations related to industrial imaging, thereby contributing to development of industrial imaging worldwide. JIIA has very strong influence in imaging sensing and machine vision with over 120 supported members such as 3M, Canon, HIKARI, Hitachi, Nippon Electro-sensory, Honda Tsushin, Bluevision, SVS-Vistek, Kyoto Denkiki, NEC, OmRON, Tamron, Teledyne, Allied Vision, Basler, On Semiconductor…


JIIA would help to organize the delegation of Japan companies to visit CIOE 2019 and discuss the possibilities on launching the Machine Vision Pavilion at CIOE 2020.
